2011 FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW: DUCATI DIAVEL AMG SPECIAL EDITION UNVEILED

Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition
Ducati and AMG’s partnership is churning out new exciting products for us petrol heads. One such machine that is the result of the marriage between the Italian bike maker and Mercedes’ skunk works is the new Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition. No, this bike doesn’t come free with a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Coupe. The bike in fact costs 26,000 euros and features AMG signature bits to set it apart from the standard Diavel.
The Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition will be a limited production bike but Ducati hasn’t revealed the number of bikes they are planning to make but, it seems they might make a substantial number of them to cater to those hardcore Ducati fans who are probably looking for two-wheels that match their awesome V8 powered coupes. As we all know, the engines in AMG tuned Mercedes’ have small placard with the name and signature of the technician who assembled the engine. Similarly, the Ducati special edition gets a Desmodromic cam-timing system set by hand and signed by the chap who fixed it into the bike.

The rims get five shiny spokes much like those on your AMG Mercedes. Even the seat is finished in Alcantara to match the dashboard of your car. The radiator grilles on the bike are finished in aluminium while the exhaust too have been given signature AMG look. Now, Ducati recently launched the Diavel in India. The Ducati Diavel is priced at Rs 17 lakh ex-showroom. Ducati has four showrooms across India and offers their complete range of high performance bikes to its Indian customers. Just like the AMG Mercedes, this Ducati is hand built. We like the Black and Silver colour scheme which does remind us of the glitzy and powerful AMG beasts.
